Matthew Laumb

Matt has been a producer and director of documentary films, a writer, a photographer, and an amateur astronomer ever since his youthful ambitions to be a climate scientist were thwarted by advanced calculus. He got his start in New York City with MTV’s News & Documentaries division, where he produced and directed several episodes of the Emmy Award-winning documentary series True Life. During this time he also produced projects on a wide range of subjects, including the Iraq War, Chernobyl, and New York's unhoused population. In recent years, while living in London and Miami, he has teamed up with the investigative reporting unit at Fusion Media Group as a producer, writer, and director of the award-winning Netflix investigative documentary series The Naked Truth and has worked alongside veteran journalist Jorge Ramos on his culture and current affairs series Real America. Matt is now back in New York, living in Brooklyn, where he finds it challenging to indulge in his astrophotography hobby.
